Coders 4 Charities is an effort that was initiated to involve the local IT community to help and raise awareness of local charities. There are similar events that have been held in other cities with Kansas City being the closest to us.
It is a voluntary effort and in the end everyone benefits; the charities get great help by having their immediate IT needs fulfilled, developers get to be creative and collaborate in small teams, designers get to strut their handiwork and show off their skills, and the community as a whole benefits due to the work that is poured for this event.
We are proud to work with a great group of volunteers on an event such as this and we hope to have many more successful events in the future.
If you are interested in helping join our organization team, please contact us at organizers@c4c-stl.org.
If you or your organization is interested in sponsoring our upcoming events please contact us as sponsors@c4c-stl.org.
If you know of a non-profit organization who could benefit from the types of services we might be able to offer please send them our email address (organizers@c4c-stl.org) and we will be happy to discuss with them how they might be able to be involved in upcoming events.
Other than the Kansas City Coders 4 Charities event that we're modeled from, there are also other similar-themed events at other cities. One such site is GiveCamp, which has held IT events to help local charities in across 7 cities; check them out.
